MARYLAND CHAPTER PEDIATRIC COUNCIL

MDAAP started a Pediatric Council a number of years ago to address problems with insurance carriers.  The Maryland Pediatric Council is made up of representatives from MDAAP as well as medical directors of various insurance companies.  They meet 3 to 4 times a year to discuss problems with payment as well as other problems in obtaining services for patients.  The co-chairs of the Pediatric Council for Maryland are Dr. Michael Levitas and Dr. Rona Stein.  In order to be effective, the Pediatric Council needs to hear from pediatricians.  The online Hassle Factor Form may be completed online to report insurance administrative and claims processing concerns. The information provided will be used to assist the AAP and chapters in identifying trends and facilitating public and private sector advocacy related to health plans.  You may also email the chapter directly.

Link to Hassle Factor Form, but you must log into the MOC to have full access: http://practice.aap.org/content.aspx?aid=1316

For more information on the MDAAP Pediatric Council, please contact Michael Levitas, MD (michael.levitas@atlanticbb.net) or Rona Stein, MD (rstein@valleypediatrics.com).
